Scope & applicable law
This policy applies to the website flossels.ch. As we also address people in the EU/DACH region, the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply.
What we process
We only process personal data where it is necessary to operate and secure the website and to provide the features you use. The individual purposes are described below.
Server logs & hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you visit, technically necessary data is processed (including IP address, date and time, the page requested, and browser/device information) to deliver the site and ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel processes this data as a processor on our behalf; data may be transferred to the US (see International transfers).
Cookies & analytics
This website currently uses no tracking cookies and no analytics or marketing services. Technically necessary data is used only to deliver the site. Should analytics or marketing tools be added in future, we will obtain your consent beforehand via a cookie banner.
Book coupon
If you request the book's reader coupon via the form, we process your email address once to send you the coupon by email (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). There is no newsletter and no further use of your address. We send this one email via Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) as our processor.
Contact form, contact & appointment booking
If you contact us through the contact form, by email or by phone, we process the data you provide to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). In the contact form, name and email address are mandatory; company and message are optional. Messages sent through the form are delivered to us by email via our processor Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), and we use your email address to reply to you. For booking a call we link to a Google service (Google Calendar appointment scheduling); data you enter there is processed by Google under its own terms.
Processors & recipients
We only share personal data with carefully selected service providers who process it on our behalf. We have data processing agreements in place with these processors in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR and Art. 9 revDSG. Services used: Vercel (hosting, US), Brevo (email delivery, France) and Google (appointment booking, US).
International transfers
Where data is transferred to the US (e.g. to Vercel or Google), we rely on appropriate safeguards: the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.
Leanpub
The book is sold via the Leanpub platform (US). If you buy there, the purchase takes place directly with Leanpub under its own privacy policy; Leanpub is an independent controller. We do not receive any payment data from Leanpub.
Retention
We store personal data only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. The email address for the book coupon is used solely for that one-time send.
Data security
The website is delivered only over an encrypted HTTPS (TLS) connection. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we process about you, and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU your local data protection authority. For any request, contact hi@flossels.ch.
